A collection of images and maybe a movie or two if they fit and will play.  This page is experimental right now.

The final time heading out to the fields to harvest corn. This land will rest for the next ten years and the equipment seen will be sold. I will miss it...

I remember in 7th grade choir our performing a song called "Verdant Meadows" which I hated at the time. But when I look out over the pastures like seen in this photo, I begin to understand the melody and meter of that song...and appreciate it.
Just to remember that I was there...

Part of the first year of honey harvest...

About to go to work on one of the flowers in the garden on the North side of the house. It is unlikely that this is a bee from one of our hives. There is a wild hive somewhere around the buildings that I have yet to find...

Mowing down the oats which was used to hold the CRP mix in place. The oats comes up quickly and prevents soil erosion while the CRP mix comes up more slowly. The oats has to be cut down before ripening or the seed will sprout and smother out what the oats was there to protect.  The cut oats adds to the biomatter as it breaks down and also helps suppress weeds.

A good shot of a brood chamber frame. To the right are cells with larva which are still being cared for by nurse bees. To the left are capped cells which will hatch out soon providing more young worker females.
